Blog Post 3: What is a double exposure?
Double Exposure Photography is simply taking two (or more) photos and layering them together to create one image. The result is an elevated piece of art. The layering process gives the image depth and texture in a way that is extremely compelling. I find, that it often gives the image a more timeless, vintage feel that creates an heirloom piece, perfect for displaying as a work of art in your home.
It can be done in camera, or in the editing process. I prefer to create my double exposures while post processing because of the freedom it allows me. The creative process is unlimited and this is when my creative juices really start flowing and I am truly in my element. Some photographers don’t enjoy the time and process of editing, whereas as i live for this and so creating without constraint in this way truly makes my heart sing! I typically will layer an image from your session with an image that encompasses some natural element such as a trees, flowers or a landscape image.
You can choose to add a double exposure to any session. Simply, let me know at the time of booking if you would like to add this to your session.
